Giampaolo is a fourth generation winemaker situated in Montefalco, Umbria. His dedication to resurrecting relic varietals such as Trebbiano Spoletino and Piantagrano is remarkable, as is his exuberance and dedication to place Sagrantino more front and center on the world wine stage.
His awards and ratings include Tre Bicchieri, Slow Wine, and regular Wine Spectator scores in the range of 93-95 points. Journalists such as Jancis Robinson, Antonio Galloni, Eric Guido, and Robert Camuto have long held him in high esteem and today he is considered a leader in the Italian wine world.
